The Federal University of Technology, Akure, (FUTA) has cancelled the just concluded Post UTME screening result and set to use UTME scores and SSCE/GCE results for the 2022/2023 admission exercise.
In a statement released by the management of the institution, the management stated that only the UTME scores and SSCE/GCE results will be the parameters of giving the candidates admission.
The reason for the development is not far-fetched according to the released statement, it was stated that there were some glitches in the conduct of the Post UTME which affected the veracity of the candidate’s result. It affected the scores of candidates positively and negatively. Therefore, it won’t give the candidates a level playing ground in the admission exercise.
To give every candidate an equal chance, the management deemed it fit to cancel the Post UTME result of all candidates. Hence, the determiner for giving the candidates admission is their UTME scores and SSCE/GCE results.
The management, however, tendered an apology and took full responsibility for their action.
