The management of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has called off the 183-day old strike and set to announce the resumption date for the commencement of the 2021/2022 academic session.
It is made known to the general public that the university will soon make the declaration of the date for the commencement of the new academic session, abdicated by the 6-month old industrial action. Plans are underway and meetings by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) have been scheduled, and it is expected that the full academic activities in the institution will reach a headway before the end of August.
Every department or session in the school is now having a series of meetings to ensure smooth academic activities when the session fully begins.
However, the efforts of the Oyo State government to bring the lingering strike to an abrupt end cannot be overemphasized with a lot of meetings held with ASUU, LAUTECH chapter. But all is to no avail until earlier today that the management calls off the strike and ensure the fruition of the meetings held with the Oyo State government.
