Unknown gunmen have reportedly shot a Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) lecturer dead in Awka, Anambra State.
It was reported that the assassination occurred early on Tuesday, 7th February, 2023.
The lecturer, Prof. Anthony Eze, lectures in the Faculty of Education in the school. From the reports gathered, the professor was killed in his residence, after he had been shot at close range repeatedly on his chest.
A resident who witnessed the assassination was also shot by the assailants. However, he has been receiving medical treatment in the hospital.
Nonetheless, the cause of Prof. Anthony Eze’s demise is still a mystery to everyone who is majorly concerned with his death.
Chika Ene, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, UNIZIK, confirmed that she had yet to receive the full reports of how the professor was gruesomely murdered in his residence.
